Information & history on back of plaque: Country stores, located strategically along America's back roads, kept travelers of the 19th and early 20th centuries well stocked for picnics. Featuring "simple country pleasures", the Blue Churn Country Store dishes up jams, cheese, and penny candy along with good, old fashioned customer service. This building was erected in the 1830's and has operated as a general store, under different names and owners, ever since.

Information & history on back of piece: This charming firehouse is being restored to its original 1904 appearance. It was the last firehouse in the city to have horses and served the city for nearly three-quarters of a century. It was left abandoned for eight years until the current owner rescued it from the wrecker's ball. Today it is on several historic registers.
