Information & history on rear of plaques:
Chase-Lloyd House, Annapolis, MD. Samuel chase, who later became a signer of the Declaration of Independence and organized Annapolis' sons of Liberty, began construction on this house in 1769 when he was a young, struggling lawyer. During its construction, Chase ran out of money and sold it to Edward Lloyd, a wealthy tobacco planter. Lloyd hired an architect to complete the house and decorate its interior in 1774. No other three-story house was built in town before the Revolutionary War. Lloyd's youngest daughter married Francis Scott Key here in 1802. It has remained one of the finest mansions in Annapolis and is a Registered National Historic Landmark.

St. Anne's Church, Annapolis, MD. This is the third church on this site that has served St.Anne's Parish since its creation in 1692. Construction of this building began in 1859, using some of the walls and tower of the second church that had been destroyed by fire in 1858. The original set of communion silver, sent by King William in 1896, is still in use today.

Thomas Point Light, Chesapeake Bay, MD. The first thomas Point Light was erected by a novice contractor in 1825, and within a few years had to be torn down and rebuilt. winslow Lewis, who held a patent on the "reflecting and magnifying" lantern used in many lighthouses, built the next one which guarded the point for over 30 years. In 1875, the Lighthouse Board decided to move the light offshore where it would be most effective in inclement weather. This new lighthouse, perched over the bay's shoals on screw piles, has withstood everything nature has hurled at it for more than a century, and remains active today.

Maryland Inn, Annapolis, MD. Erected in 1772 by a prominent merchant, Thomas Hyde, the Maryland Inn was the first structure in Annapolis designed to be a hotel, and not just a house that could be used interchangeably. The inn was called the "King of France Tavern" in 1784, to express gratitude for the help given by Louis XVI in winning our independence. Enlarged and modernized in 1868, it acquired Victorian features that disguised its 18th century origin.

Lights Parade, Annapolis, MD. The Eastport Yaught Club's Lights Parade has been an annual tradition in Annapolis for over a decade. More than 60 boats travel along the Severn River to the Annapolis Dock for their judging. Thousands of people gather to enjoy the dazzling spectacle of these boats decked out in Christmas lights in the shape of angels, swans and other festive figures.
