Information about plaque:
Was one of the first wineries I toured during a visit to California. It is the oldest operating winery in Napa Valley. Charles Krug fled Prussia in 1849 and founded his winery in 1861. The winery faltered after his death in 1892 and all but shut down during prohibition.
