05-612 Gemeinhaus, Bethlehem, Pennsylvania The Community House is a National Historic Landmark and one of the largest 18th century log buildings still standing today. The oldest structure in Bethlehem, its twelve rooms, dormitories and chapel formed the focus of the early Moravian community and were later used as a residence for Moravian Church officials and their families.
05-613 Waterworks, Bethlehem, Pennsylvania Many take municipal water for granted, but it was an amazing innovation when the Waterworks started providing water in 1754. Bethlehem's second National Historic Landmark, the building itself is made of hand hewn limestone but the true innovation lies in the pumping system. Water was pumped up from the spring to a water tower then flowed by gravity into cisterns then, in turn, into many of the town's buildings. Enlarged in 1762, its output was 800 gallons per minute
05-614 Goundie House, Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. This Federal style home of the town's brewer, John Sabastian Goundie, is believed to be the first brick house in Bethlehem.
