03-942 Cross the Red Sea Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the Lord drove the sea back by a strong east wind and the waters were divided. The people of Israel went into the midst of the sea on dry ground, the waters being a wall to them on their right hand and on their left... Verses taken from Exodus 14: 15-30
03-941 Birth of Jesus Joseph went up from Galilee to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem to be enrolled with Mary, his bethrothed, who was with child. And while they were there, the time came for her to be delivered. And she gave birht to her first-born son and wrapped him in swaddling cloths, and laid him in a manger, because there was no place for them in the inn. Verses taken from Luke 2: 1-39
02-841 Noah's Ark. God saw how corrupt the earth had become, and said to Noah. "I am going to put an end to all people, for the earth is filled with violence because of them. So make yourself an ark of cyprus wood. I am going to bring flood waters to the earth to destroy all life. You are to bring into the ark your family and two of all living creatures, male and female." It rained for fourty days and fourty nights, and the ark floated on the waters for a hundred and fifty days. Noah did everything just as God had commanded him. When Noah came out ot the ark, he built an alter to the Lord. The Lord was pleased and made a covenant with Noah: Never again will all life be cut off by the waters of a flood. And God set a rainbow in the clouds as a sign of this covenant. Verses taken from Genesis 5:29-10:32
01-941 Daniel in the Lion's Den So the king gave the order, and they brought Daniel and threw him into the lion's den. The king said to Daniel,"May your God, whom you serve continually, rescue you!"...At the first light of dawn, the king got up and hurried to the lion's den. When he came near the den, he called to Daniel in an anguished voice,"Daniel, servant of the living God, has your God, whom you serve continually, been able to rescue you from the lions?" Daniel answered, "O king, live forever! My God sent this angel, and he shut the mouths of the lions. They have not hurt me, because I was found innocent in his sight. Nor have I ever done any wrong before you, O king." The king was overjoyed and gave orders to lift Daniel out of the den." Verses taken from Daniel 6:1-28
01-942 The Last Supper "When evening came, Jesus was reclining at the table with the Twelve....While they were eating, Jesus took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to his deciples, saying, "Take and eat; this is my body." Then he took the cup , gave thanks and offered it to them, saying, "Drink from it, all of you. This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins. I tell you, I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now until that day when I drink it anew with you in my Father's kingdom." Verses taken from Matthew 26:20-30
00-941 Adam & Eve. "Then the Lord G-D formed man of dust from the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being. And the Lord G-D planted a garden in Eden...and the rib which the Lord G-D had taken from the man he made into a woman and brought her to the man...The man called his wife's name Eve, because she was the mother of all living. And the Lord G-D made for Adam and for his wife garments of skins, and clothed them." Verses taken from Genesis 2:7 - 3:24
00-942 The Good Samaritan "A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jerico, and he fell among robbers, who stripped him and beat him, and departed, leaving him half dead. Now by chance a priest was going down that road, and he passed by the other side. So likewise a Levite passed by on the other side. But the Samaritan came to where he was; and when he saw him, he had compassion, and went to him and bound up his wounds, pouring on oil and brought him to an inn, and took care of him. He took out two denari and gave them to the innkeeper, saying, "Take care of him; and whatever more you spend, I will repay you when I come back." Which of these three, do you think, proved neighbor to the man who fell among the robbers? The one who showed mercy on him." And Jesus said,"Go and do likewise." Luke 10:29-37
B01 Moses and the Ten Commandments
And G-D spoke these words:
"I am the Lord your G-D, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery.
You shall have no other gods before me.
You shall not make for yourself an idol...
You shall not misuse the name of the Lord your G-D...
Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy...
Honor your father and mother...
You shall not commit murder.
You shall not commit adultry.
You shall not steal.
You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor.
You shall not covet your neighbor's house..."
Exodus 20:1-17
B02 Sermon on the Mount
Now when he saw the crowds, he went up on a mountainside and sat down. His disciples came to him, and he began to teach them saying:
"Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.
Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.
Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled.
Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see G-D.
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of G-D.
Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you...for my sake.
Rejoice, and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so persecuted they the profits which were before you."
Mathew 5:1-12
B03 Jesus and the Children - Sitting down, Jesus called the Twelve and said, "If anyone wants to be first, he must be the very last, and the servant of all."
He took a little child and had him stand among them. Taking him in his arms, he said to them, "Whoever welcomes one of these little children in my name welcomes me; and whoever welcomes me does not welcome me but the one who sent me." Mark 9:35-37
B04 David & Goliath - During the rule of King Saul, the Phillistines waged war on the Israelites. A Philistine hero named Goliath challenged the Israelite army, "Choose a man and have him fight me." While Saul and the Israelites were terrified, young David, the eight son of Jesse, stepped forward. With staff, five smooth stones and a sling he approached the giant. Goliath chided and cursed David. But david replied, "I come against you in the name of the Lord almighty. this day the Lord will hand you over to me." Taking a stone from his bag, he slung it and hit Goliath on the forehead. The Philistine fell face down on the ground. david triumphed over Goliath through his faith in the Lord. 1 Samuel 17:1-57
