Information & history on rear of plaque:
6980B Plimoth Plantation Boxed Set, 6000 limited edition production. The back of the box displays the passenger list of the Mayflower by family or groups.
6981 Myles Standish Home, Plymouth, MA. Veteran soldier, Myles Standish, military commander of New Plymouth, arrived on the Mayflower. He, his wife, Barbara, and their three sons shared this home.
6982 John Alden Home, Plymouth, MA. John alden, served as the cooper or barrelmaker aboard the Mayflower. He chose to remain in New Plymouth where he became a "husbandman" (farmer) as well as a cooper. He married Priscilla Mullins, also a Mayflower passanger and settled in this home.
6983 Francis Cooke Home, Plymouth, MA. Francis Cooke arrived on the Mayflower with his son, John. His wife, Hester, who was a Walloon (Belgian) Protestant, followed in 1623 with the rest of the family.
6984 Samuel Fuller Home, Plymouth, MA. Samuel Fuller, a deacon in the non-conformist church in Leiden and New Plymouth, was surgeon to the colony and on the Mayflower. In 1623, he was joined by his wife, Bridget, who was skilled in midwifery. Their garden was notable for a wide variety of herbs useful in the medical practice.
6988 Milking Goat, Plymouth, MA. Goats were common in new colonies because of their hardiness, ability to forage and good milk.
6985 Feasting Weddings and successful harvests were joyful events that gathered the community together for visiting, feasting and games.
6986 Mayflower II It's keel was laid on July 4, 1955, at the Upham Shipyard in Bixham, Dovonshire. The ship was meticulously constructed to period specifications and is a replica of the original ship that carried the pilgrims to their new home in America from the city of Leiden in the Netherlands.
6987 Militia Muster All freemen between the ages of 16 and 60 were expected to aid in the defense of the colony.
