History on back of plaque:
Built in the late 1800's as a Municipal Building & Jail,  and remodeled in the 1930's as the Export Volunteer Fire Department.   It's use goes back to when the front porch was not a part of the building and it housed jail cells,  horses,  fire equipment and social quarters for the fire fighters.   After the borough offices moved to their new location,  it went through several face lifts and tenants until it is now owned by Dr. Roger Coldren,  who has chiropractic offices on the ground floor and The Village Sampler,  a unique gift shop,  on the second and third floors.
