Information & history on reverse side of plaque:
03-611 Bedford Falls Sign & Christmas Tree, Bedford Falls, PA Every time a bell rings, an angel gets his wings.
03-612 Gower Drugs, Bedford Falls, Pennsylvania After school, young George worked at the drug store where he saved a distraught Mr. Gower from making a deadly mistake with a prescription. George had lost hearing in one ear after rescuing his brother Harry who had fallen through the ice. While George was busy making an ice cream sundae, a young Mary leaned over the counter and whispered in his bad ear, "George Bailey, I will love you to the day I die."
03-613 Bailey House Mary and George paused in front of the old Granville house as they strolled home from a dance. Mary saw the deserted house as full of romance. George, who wanted to lasso the moon for her, protested, "That old place!?" They moved in on their wedding day, leaky roof and all, and over the years Mary turned 320 Sycamore Street into a cozy family home for their four children - Tommy, Zuzu, Janie, and Pete.
03-614 Bailey Bros. Building and Loan George sacrificed his own dreams to run the family business after his father's sudden death. Even though he earned only $45 a week, George turned down a tempting offer from the unscrupulous Mr. Potter, because he believed in everyone's right to afford a decent home. Despite the loss of a large deposit by Uncle Billy, which brought in the bank examiner, George discovered that his many blessings made him the richest man in town.
03-615 Martini's His guardian angel Clarence arrived just in time to show a despondent George how Bedford Falls would have been had he not existed to make a difference in so many lives. Martini's was filled with unhappy, desperate people. George's friendly hometown had changed and familiar people had been reduced to dire straits. In the end, all was restored to George who raced joyously through the snow to reach family, friends, and home.
