FMO04 Graceland Christmas, Memphis, TN. Few houses in the United States could boast the kind of extravagant display that greets visitors to the home of Elvis for whom Christmas was the favorite time of year. Decorations usually went up soon after Thanksgiving and would remain in place through his birthday, January 8. Decorations could be found in most every room of the house, and the dining room was the center of activity. Each year the largest prettiest live tree to be had in Memphis would be placed there. Today, the staff at Graceland still decorates the home and grounds much the way Elvis did all those years. The home becomes a warm reminder of Christmas long ago - the time when Elvis would rush home from his work to be with his favorite people at his favorite time of year. Christmas is a rare opportunity for Graceland visitors to share a glimpse into the life of a very special man. Christmas at Graceland - a beautiful tradition.
