Made of reclaimed and recycled pine from a house built in the early 1900's
Boards used for the sides,  front,  back and bottom*  are one piece,  while the top is fabricated from two boards with bread board ends installed.
Bread board ends were constructed to eliminate warping of the lid.
An automatic lid closer was installed to prevent pinched or smashed fingers while allowing the lid to be opened to any position up to 70^o.
Hand holes were cut in the sides for ease of moving the chest.
Hand cut dovetails were cut and utilized to fasten the front,  back and side boards.
*  Bottom board is made of poplar.
